Late Afternoon, 2009

solarplate monoprint on paper, 9.5 x 8 in. (24.1 x 20.3 cm.)

Solarplate printing involves exposing a plate with a light-sensitive polymer surface to UV light; an image (created on a transparent material, such as glass) is then etched onto the surface.

Pictured here is Emily Mason in her NYC studio in 2015, looking through a series of solarplate prints (on table) created with Lisa Mackie.
