Steven Rose

Steven Rose is an artist and foundation leader living and working in Queens, NY. He first met Emily Mason while attending Hunter College in the early 2000s and worked as her studio manager for over a decade, up until her passing in 2019.

While he never sat in her class, Rose credits Mason’s wisdom, generosity, and ever present long-view of art history for his development as an artist and advocate for the arts.

Rose loves to talk about Emily Mason’s mastery of the print, including this group of B&W water-based monotype prints from 2016.
