Jonathan Mildenberg

Jonathan Mildenberg began working in Emily Mason’s studio in early 2016, closely assisting the artist and facilitating her day-to-day practice.

Mildenberg is a visual artist who works between Brooklyn, NY, and the upper Hudson Valley. He holds a BFA in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA in Sculpture from Yale University. He has been a visiting artist, lecturer and critic at multiple institutions including Columbia University, Boston University, Massachusetts College of Art and Design and University of Minnesota.

While a single piece would be hard to single out as his favorite work, Mildenberg has always considered Emily’s prolific run of oils on paper in the 1970’s as one of her most exciting and daring artistic eras.
